The Daily Palette Vintage MATTHEW KLUBER Matthew Kluber received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1987 and earned his MFA from the University of Iowa in 1991. He is currently a Professor at Grinnell College. Matthew Kluber has shown throughout the United States, and his work is held in public collections in Texas, Oregon, Illinois, and Iowa. About his work, Matt writes: My recent work attempts to find a new pictorial space in abstraction by creating a dialog between the Color-field and Op painting of 1960's & '70's with the new visual idiom inherent in digital technology. The traditional object of the painting is transformed physically (via color change) and conceptually by a digital projection playing across the surface. The resulting union is a kind of "hyper color-field." This page was first published on September 3, 2004. |
