CASEY KASPAREK Beverwijk, Oil on canvas, 39.3" x 63", 2009
Born and raised in rural Iowa, Casey Kasparek received an undergraduate education at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Upon graduation he lived in Europe, primarily in Italy, and refined his artistic focus.
In his own words:
Portraits. They are what moves me and what makes me want to move others. It amazes me to see a person's joy, strength, innocence, pride . . . soul in a single image. I strive to capture moments in a subject's life that replicate who they are, what they are, and/or who they want to be.
My style is often dictated by the subject, as the execution of a painting aids in telling the story of the subject. Is it simple? Is it whimsical? Is it complex? Is it raw? Casey Kasparek website |
