JOHN S. EBERHARDT John S. Eberhardt is a self-taught artist who has been painting full-time since 1978. He is also an avid hunter and fisherman and he uses his experiences in nature to paint detailed scenes of deer, birds, and other animals in the Midwest landscape. As Eberhardt explains, he tries "to capture on canvas the excitement and drama of the outdoor world." He is also known for painting images of wildlife on wild turkey feathers. Eberhardt exhibits his work throughout the Midwest and he has been awarded "Artist of the Year" and "Best of Show" many times throughout his career. He has been a cover artist for Cabela's since 1983, and he has done over thirty-three covers with them. Most importantly, he often uses his art, including his limited edition prints, to further conservation efforts. Eberhardt now resides in Montrose, Iowa with his wife Marie. |
