Daily Palette Double Feature ANNICK SJOBAKKEN Annick Sjobakken is a Des Moines based photographer and educator. "I find the age between 18 and 22 to be particularly interesting as traits of both adolescence and adulthood are exhibited simultaneously. To try to capture this duality I spent a year photographing my youngest sister. I have always felt that my sister and I are able to communicate best through my photographing her. My sister has never been a very communicative person but I think that by letting herself be photographed she is communicating something of herself to the outside world. I hope that this series will give some clues to her story while giving space to the viewer to insert their own story or to create their own narrative." |
