Iowa Writes

To dream that poverty touched my feet.
To dream that puddles of rainwater touched me.
To dream that I was given a gift of incredible value.
To dream that my gift left me and the memory of the dream didn't.
To dream that I was recognized and touched.
To dream that a tree was my brother.
To dream that I was safe.
