Christiana Byrne grew up surrounded by art and theater in Mason City, Iowa.  She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2010 with a BFA and will graduate from the University of Iowa in 2014 with an MFA in Jewelry and Metal Arts.

Christiana uses different materials and techniques to create jewelry objects that depict the body's interaction with the environment.  Her work relies heavily on photographic expressions with the artwork being worn on the body.  Each object is merely a piece of the story.  Only when worn does the story come together as a whole.
