{made} community is the story of two girls who quit their day jobs to do their dream jobs and are loving every minute of it.  When people ask what we do, "we made stuff and now we're trying to sell it" is the running joke around the studio.  But the real {made} story is one of lifelong friends who were once avid garage-salers in high school now turned mother of 3/reiki healer and ex-Wall Streeter/hairstylist turned makers.

Our journey into making old things new again began in the 2011 holiday season after selling out at a local popup shop and the feeling of "community" has been growing ever since.  We make everything by hand in Iowa City, Iowa.  {made} believes in meaningful consumption and supports a karma-friendly supply chain to source made in the USA, fair trade, or renewable supplies whenever possible.  We love to hunt for vintage pieces, to break apart and re-make, and to source USA-made whenever we have to buy new.  Every quarter, we give 9% back to local non-profits with causes we believe in.
