JONI REED COOLEY Joni Reed Cooley is an artist based in Marion, Iowa. "My landscape paintings are created to capture the beauty of a moment in time out of doors. I am drawn to scenes that reveal the wonder concealed in everyday places such as paths in the woods, flowing creeks, seasonal flora, and ever-changing fields, often close to home in the heartland. I invite the viewer to slow down and reflect on the glory that surrounds us in places we so often hurry past, as well as portraying dramatic and inspiring views that wow us with nature's splendor. Following a career in program management, the process of exploring my artistic vision is enhanced by the rich resources of classes offered by Midwest artists. Using a vibrant palette whether in pastel, oil, or thread, my passion is building layer upon layer of colors to bring the complexities of nature to the forefront." |
