Glenda Drennen is a former public school music teacher whose career as an artist began when she left teaching more than 30 years ago.  She is now a prolific, award-winning painter and a sought-after watercolor instructor living in Le Mars, Iowa.  Ms. Drennen has earned signature membership in both the Iowa Watercolor Society and the Watercolor U.S.A. Honor Society and is a member of Iowa Artists.  She is a lifetime member of the Iowa Watercolor Society and served on the board as Newsletter Editor for four years.

Ms. Drennen tells us about her work: "Joie de vivre spills into my watercolor paintings to make energetic representational and abstracted images.  My various watercolor series delight the viewer with images of crooked old-world doors on Rue Rutabaga, women holding tea cups with cocked pinky fingers while telling naughty jokes, dining room tables overflowing with fanciful fish dinners, and wonky floral arrangements erupting from vases.  These unexpected images in my paintings confront the viewer with spirited cheer, reminding viewers that life need not be taken too seriously."
