J. W. LAUGHLIN Waterway, acrylic, 9" x 12"
"After a thirty year hiatus, I picked up my brushes to see if my 'muse' from graduate studies at the U of Iowa was still with me. I believe I found out. The works resembled my earlier work. I find my inspiration from my daily experiences at my home in the country near West Branch. The paintings are my interpretation of my surroundings. I draw on the beauty I live with on a daily basis, and feel the need to capture." text and image from The Chait Galleries Downtown
