Lauren Flynn graduated in 2012 from Grinnell College where she studied Art and Mathematics among other things.

Lauren writes this about her work:

"Making begins with noticing and proceeds with caring for the object or phenomenon of my attention. When I create, I make slowly with my hands. This painstaking care is integral to my search for lightness and balance, and I work throughout every process to preserve subtlety and avoid excess. I prefer to care for quiet things that would otherwise go unnoticed or be discarded."
