Bluebell Walk

Ann Olsson tells us this about her life and career:

"Growing up in the mostly rural suburbs of Buffalo, New York, I have always loved nature.  I spent most of my free time tramping through the meadows and woods around my home.  I was horse crazy and loved drawing them, but I never took any art classes beyond elementary school.  I moved to Iowa after college and marriage.  Until my retirement, I worked as a chemical engineer at John Deere.

Within a month of retirement I took my first watercolor class with Esther Cheng in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  I loved it and have never looked back.  I continue with watercolor but have branched into pastels and Sumi E ink.  I am lucky to be painting with the Thursday Painters, based at the Hearst Center for the Arts in Cedar Falls.  We paint every Thursday morning.  A smaller group meets every Tuesday, weather permitting, for a plein air session.  We also travel to workshops together.  I paint what I love: nature, landscapes, flowers, and sometimes animals.  My goal is to make the viewer feel a part of the scene."
