Agnes Apicella is known for her watercolors and pastels inspired by her time in both California and the Midwest.  In addition to showing her art when possible, she participates as a member of various artist societies, such as the Iowa Pastel Society, Watercolor Artists of Sonoma County, and the Art Workshop of Western Sonoma County.

The artist writes this about her work: "As a painter one notices light and natural earth elements in unusual ways.  My aim is to incorporate these daily happenings onto a canvas.  I have painted and drawn since childhood and completed degrees along the way.  Children, land and seascapes, and flowers are my favorite subjects.  Pastel, watercolor, and pencil on paper and board are my chosen media.  Daily painting is necessary both in and outdoors."
