JAKE ALLEE Jake Allee earned his BFA from the University of Iowa and his MFA from the University of North Texas. His work and writings have been published in Clay Times Magazine, Ceramics Monthly Magazine, Pottery Making Illustrated, California Homes, The Best of Artists book series by Kennedy Publishing, and Surface Design for Ceramics by Lark Books. Mr. Allee's work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and is held in several permanent collections. He currently lives in Grand Junction, Colorado and teaches at Mesa State College. "My work consists of a vocabulary of forms, techniques, and textures that I rearrange giving me an endless array of possibilities. Division and arrangement of space within form are counter balanced by spontaneity in surface development. I strive to employ the tactile sensation clay provides in a manner that enables the viewer or user to experience the process of creation. My works are always a record of where I'm at in time and an expression of living life as an adventure!" |
