William Lieb was born in Spirit Lake, Iowa where he grew up in his father's woodworking shop. His keen interest in building things led to a professional career in architecture. Following retirement William has pursued his life-long interest in art with the goal of creating major outdoor sculpture.

As a sculptor William works mostly in plastics, woods and metals. The main thrust of his work is to engage, enrich and energize the human spirit.
