Iowa Writes

I Am From

I am from Iowa City, where the skies are wide open with opportunity.

I am from hot summers, climbing trees, no worries.

I am from picking apples with my family in the beautiful apple orchard.

I am from screaming from joy with the exciting roller coasters of Adventureland.

I am from playing four square and freeze tag with my friends.

I am from loving school and everything about it.

I am Abby.

In November of 2008, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) designated Iowa City, Iowa, the world's third City of Literature, making the community part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
