Of his work, Behrens writes, "This digital montage was commissioned by the College of Humanities and Fine Arts at the University of Northern Iowa for use as a logo-like image on a set of posters I designed in 2006-2007. The posters were used to advertise a series of events (lectures, films and exhibits) having to do with the Holocaust. The central figure began with a photograph I made of my wife, which I altered and enhanced, while adding a swastika in the background."
