Iowa Writes

I still can dance, I still can sing,
I love each new thing life can bring—
I can't believe I'm eighty!
I still can love, I still can cry,
Sometimes I laugh, or maybe sigh—
I can't believe I'm eighty!
I don't work much—I don't want to,
I read a lot—write poems, too.
I can't believe I'm eighty!
Well if you really want to know,
I have a little time to go
Before I'm eighty.
There's five whole months and two whole days
Before I have to act my age
When I'll be eighty.
