Listen to the Wind, Metal, 8' x 10', 2017
Hilde Debruyne is a Belgian artist living in rural Iowa. She is a sculptor and designer in clay, metal, and bronze. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is included in public and private collections.
She has successfully completed multiple public art projects throughout Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Belgium; within budget, within the timeline and with the greatest satisfaction of the clients. She incorporates the use of durable, innovative materials with an excellent fabrication process and the latest technology. Her public art work includes the Tree of Life (11' tall and 22' wide) in Indianola, Circle of Life in West Des Moines, Hope in Clive, and Memorial Garden in Indianola. She has also completed several murals such as The Birth Place of Des Moines at Principal Park, Hope is the thing with feathers at CISS in Des Moines, and The Story of Black Elk at the Montessori School in West Des Moines.
She recently completed Listen to the Wind as part of the Western Skies Scenic Byway Project in Guthrie Center, IA.
