All this week The Daily Palette will be celebrating the connection between visual art and music. We will feature Iowa artists who are inspired by music, in either their style or in their choice of subject matter.

After serving six years in the United States Marine Corps as a Mountaineering Instructor, Shannon attended Morningside College and received his B.S. in art (2000). He then attended the University of South Dakota and received his M.F.A. in painting (2002). Shannon is the Exhibitions/Collections Coordinator at the Sioux City Art Center where he maintains the permanent collection and installs the exhibitions. Shannon is also an adjunct professor at Morningside College, where he occasionally teaches painting, sculpture, and consults in the galleries. Shannon produces and shows his work in the region and lives in Sioux City with his wife, Lisa, and their daughter, Shay.
