Sheltered pearl donut bead series

Favorites Week: Jewelry

All this week the Daily Palette will be celebrating some of our favorite jewelry made by Iowa artists. These objects vary significantly in style and inspiration; some are amusing, some are romantic and thoughtful, while others are simply beautiful.

PATRICIA KIMLE
Sheltered pearl donut bead series, polymer clay, fine and sterling silver, cultured pearl, 2013

Patricia Kimle has been working with polymer clay for twenty-five years and fine silver metal clay for ten.  Her jewelry designs span a range of techniques combining rich color and pattern in polymer and textures in silver.  Patricia sells her work to galleries and gift shops across the country, she teaches polymer and metal techniques, and she has written three how-to craft books and numerous magazine project articles.  Her work pays homage to nature with lots of examples of foliage and patterns captured in silver textures.  Patricia's work also often includes bits of scripture or text from poetry embossed in silver or in polymer.

You can see more of Patricia Kimle's work on her website (link provided below), and on Etsy.
