Jeff Hirst is a Minneapolis-based artist who has been showing his work since the early 1990s.  He has shown his work extensively across the United States, including in a recent exhibit at McNutt Gallery in Iowa City.  Hirst is interested in bringing print ideas to encaustic painting and has been teaching workshops around the country for the past six years.  He was awarded a 2009 Minnesota State Arts Board grant.  His work is also featured in numerous private and public collections, including SAP America, Arcstone Technologies, and Great River Energy.

Mr. Hirst is opening a printmaking studio, Hirst Printmaking, in 2013 and he will specialize in traditional print approaches as well as experimental ideas that meld encaustic and printmaking.

His work will be featured on the Daily Palette again tomorrow.  Don't miss it!
