EMMA MYERS-VERHAGE
Monday

Alarm interrupts marvelous dreaming
I want to destroy it more and more with each beep
Heaving tired body out of bed
Trudging up the long tiresome staircase
Eyelids hang like monkeys
Loose and heavy
Can I please go back to sleep?
